QuickBooks guides/Analyze any export

You exported QuickBooks to Excel. Now skip the Excel.

Everyone exports QuickBooks to a spreadsheet eventually. Drop that export on the canvas and ask your question directly — no pivot tables, no formulas to debug.

The export-to-Excel habit exists because QuickBooks reports stop where your questions start. But what happens after the export — pivot tables, SUMIFS, manual groupings — is slow, fragile, and impossible to audit three weeks later.

The file you already exported is all you need. Drop it on the canvas and ask: spend by vendor by month, revenue by customer vs. last year, categories growing faster than 20%. The AI writes the SQL; your browser computes it from the file; the file contents never leave your machine.

The prompt

Here's my general ledger export — show spending by vendor by month, and flag any vendor up more than 20% versus last year.

Works on any export: general ledger, transaction list, P&L detail — from QuickBooks or any other system.

How it works

1 · Bring your books

Connect QuickBooks live, or drop an export — Excel, CSV, JSON, Parquet. From QuickBooks or any other system.

2 · Ask in plain English

The AI plans the steps and writes the SQL for each one — visible on the canvas, readable, auditable.

3 · Computed on your machine

A real query engine in your browser runs the SQL on your actual data. Numbers are computed, never generated.

What you get

  • Direct answers computed from your export — grouped, filtered, compared
  • Follow-up questions on the same data, without rebuilding anything
  • Charts from computed results
  • Every transformation visible as SQL — auditable weeks later

Common questions

Which file formats work?

Excel (.xlsx), CSV, JSON, and Parquet. Multi-sheet workbooks are supported — each sheet shows up separately so you can point the question at the right one.

How big a file can it handle?

The engine in your browser comfortably handles the hundreds of thousands of rows a QuickBooks export produces. It's a real columnar query engine, not a spreadsheet.

Does my financial data get uploaded to a server?

No. Your file contents stay in your browser — the computation runs on your machine. The AI only sees your column names and a small sample so it can plan the steps. When you connect QuickBooks live, data flows to your browser session, not into a database we keep.

Do I need to sign up to try it?

No. Open the canvas, drop a file, and ask — you get free AI messages with no account. A free account unlocks a monthly allowance of AI questions and saved workflows you can re-run every month.
